Models to explain Memory
Memory ... is the diary that we all carry about with us.
Oscar Wilde
There have been several models proposed by researchers to describe memory. One well- understood model of memory was developed by Atkinson and Shiffrin (1968) who suggested that it comprises three stores: a brief and fleeting sensory memory, a slightly longer lasting short-term memory, and a long-term memory store that is virtually unlimited in both capacity and duration. This is referred to as the multi-store model of memory.

Activities to Complete today (Monday 22nd):
Use the information provided in the links and the PPT presentations below to complete the activities below on the:
Miss Wood has also put together a booklet of information on the entire memory unit as we will be moving quickly (I promise I will be back tomorrow no matter how I am feeling!), for you to refer to. It also has information to help you complete the above tasks.
We will be starting methods of retrieval tomorrow. I will be doing a few small activities before that to reinforce Models of memory, but I expect the above 3 tasks completed today.
